About the Movie
Four Weeks, Four Hours tells the stories of two women, each stranded
in the desert on opposite sides of the globe.
One, a photographer on assignment, finds herself trapped in a war
zone when her plane crashes, killing the pilot. An experienced hiker,
her knowledge of survival is tested as she travels back across the
border to Turkey– her memory of the dead pilot her only companion.
Halfway around the world, a trophy wife from Palm Springs finds herself
alone in the desert of the American southwest when her husband’s
car crashes, killing him. Impatient for help and unaware of the ordeal
before her, she resolves to walk back to town alone.
Both women are pushed to the limits of their endurance and beyond–the
photographer over four weeks, the wife within four hours–as
each story simultaneously unfolds. The contrast between each woman's
reaction makes the difference between life and death.
Four Weeks, Four Hours is a feature length video shot on location
at Coyote Dry Lake, Half Moon Bay, and San Francisco. Written and
directed by Alexis Van Hurkman.
